Some emulators have problems when running games with large resources. If this does occur (usually due to forcing the game to load a particular amount of memory when the game is compiled and only running within the emulators heap), then the emulator may well crash if they run out of virtual memory. The only emulator for which I'm aware of this not having been fixed is the one that was recompiled for the Raspberry Pi 2. I believe it was only fixed in recent versions, but I'm not sure of the exact version. The game will crash and the only way to fix the crash is to restart the console.
In addition to these known issues, I'm not 100% sure if all the Satellaview games fully work yet. They definitely don't work in most emulators (not currently). I'm not sure if it was ever supported elsewhere - I'm not certain.
Some of the Satellaview games are incredibly easy to crack, so it's best to copy the game file directly from the ROM to the PSP instead of the SD card. This is not widely supported, though, and it may not work properly with every emulator.
While there are many ways to do the same thing, the most popular method is still to use a ROM Manager application. These are quite common on XBLA games nowadays (provided the game can support it). Most are quite simple, and you just press the same button several times to let you choose your game. d2c66b5586
